(Digital Signal Processing)
Salary: £30,000, Welwyn Garden City, Herts
This 12 month fixed-term contract is a Partnership between the University of Hertfordshire and Digitimer Limited which provides a unique opportunity for a graduate level candidate to embed the capability to employ Digital Signal Processing (DSP) in the development and improvement of medical devices.
In neurological measurement systems the signal of interest is in the 0-30kHz range. These devices are used with a clinical amplifier but are susceptible to experience mains interference.
Digitimer has been successful in the Medical Research Instrument, Clinical Investigation Instrument and Sub-contact Manufacturing business since 1972.
Digitimer prides itself with the close connection we have with universities and hospitals in developing new products. Often these products are used in leading techniques in the clinical or research environments.
You will hold, as a minimum, a B. Eng. in Electronic Engineering or equivalent, or relevant Masters level qualification with some experience of FPGA-based digital system design, Digital Signal Processing and VHDL programming. Ideally your degree would include experience of electronic hardware design and embedded system firmware.
In particular, we will be looking for demonstrable strength of independent research skills, critical analysis and self-management. You will be able to reason logically to analyse a problem and design solution(s). An independent, critical thinker, proactive in planning work but also reacting to unexpected challenges and opportunities. Crucially, to ensure knowledge is embedded in the company, you will demonstrate the ability communicate effectively at all levels working both in a team but also individually.
