The Neurolog System includes a range of transducers and accelerometers for making measurements of in vivo pressures, muscle force and limb acceleration or tremor. Pressure Transducers Disposable and re-useable pressure transducers are connected to the NL108A Pressure Amplifier via an interconnecting lead which is specific to the transducer of choice. The pressure transducers can be used to make measurement of in vivo internal pressures, as blood pressure monitor or bladder pressure monitor. Force Transducers Our range of isometric force transducers (strain gauges) are used with the NL109 Bridge Amplifier. We also have an optical-based XY Ergometer (NL280), which has been developed to measure the force generated by drosophila during genetic knockout studies of insect muscle. Accelerometers NL109 Bridge Amplifiers can also be used with our NL260 3-Axis Accelerometer Interface and selection of 1, 2 or 3 axis accelerometer. One NL109 is required for each axis required. NL108T2 – Disposable Physiological Pressure Transducer The NL108T2 disposable pressure transducers provide a straight-forward, cost effective and reliable means of monitoring physiological pressures. The transducers feature a large uniform lumen reducing the chance of incomplete filling, which can lead to bubble formation. The transducer is fitted with a short lead which must be connected via our 2.5m long NL108L2 lead (see below) to the NL108A pressure amplifier. These transducers are used on a disposable basis in the clinical environment, with careful use, their life-time in a non-human research laboratory can be extended further. NL108T4 – Re-useable Physiological Pressure Transducer
Suitable for both arterial and venous blood pressure monitoring, the NL108T4 must be attached via a lead (NL108L4, see below) to the NL108A pressure amplifier, allowing continuous pressure monitoring. The NL108T4 is a highly accurate and rugged re-useable transducer, which is used in conjunction with disposable domes (NL108D4T, see below). These disposable domes are easy to fill and attach to the transducer body and are available from us in packs of 10 or individually (one dome is included with each transducer). The components of the transducer are electrically isolated from the transducer housing, which is in turn isolated from the saline solution by the silicone membrane of the dome. The transducer is gold plated, making it easier to clean. The transducer is designed primarily for use as a blood pressure monitor, but equally well operates as a monitor for intracranial, gastrologic or intra-uterine pressures, as well as urodynamic measurements. NL108D4T – Disposable Domes for NL108T4 Transducer These domes are suitable for use with our currently available NL108T4 re-useable transducer and for added convenience are now fitted with 3 way taps. Domes are available individually (NL108D4T) or in packs of 10 (NL108D4T/10). NL108L2 – Interconnecting Lead
Interconnecting lead used between NL108A Pressure Amplifier and disposable NL108T2 transducers. NL108L4 – Interconnecting Lead
Interconnecting lead (2.5m long) used between NL108A Pressure Amplifier and re-useable NL108T4 transducers. NL61 – Isometric Force Transducer (25g – 1500g)
Available in a variety of ranges, these isometric force transducers can be used with the NL109 Bridge Amplifier, to provide you with a simple means of measuring force alongside other parameters of interest. They offer low deflection, high output sensitivity, a high overload range and versatile mounting options. Ranges Available: +/-25g, +/-55g, +/-110g, +/-220g, +/-450g, +/-1000g and +/-1500g (If ordering, please ensure required range is stated) NL62 – Dual Cantilever Beam Transducer (2kg – 50kg)
Available in a variety of ranges, the NL62 offers an excellent size/performance ratio, at a competitive price. The dual cantilever design enables the rejection of off-centre forces, making it suitable for a number of applications requiring measurement of forces beyond the limits of the NL61. The transducer is wired for connection to our NL109 Bridge amplifier. Ranges Available: +/-2kg, +/-5kg, +/-10kg, +/-30kg, +/-50kg (If ordering, please ensure required range is stated) NL63 – Medium Range Single Point Load Cell (100kg – 250kg)
The NL63 is a medium range anodised aluminium single point load cell, which has been specifically deigned for platform weighing applications, although it is equally suited to other weighing and force measurement applications where high accuracy is required from a low range product. The NL63 is suitable for use in platforms with sizes up to 400mm x 400mm. It is environmentally sealed as standard to IP67. The transducer is wired for connection to our NL109 Bridge amplifier. Ranges Available: ±100kg, ±150kg, ±200kg, ±250kg (If ordering, please ensure the required range is stated) NL280 – XY Ergometer
Developed for research into jump forces generated by drosophila, the NL280 XY Ergometer comprises a flexible light pipe, photodiode detector and a NeuroLog module which powers the emitter/detector and outputs the voltage signals which correlate with the movement of the light beam. The light pipe and detector are designed to be mounted on Narishige magnetic stands which we also supply. This product was featured in our Digitimes newsletter. NL260 3 Axis Accelerometer Interface
The NL260 3 Axis Accelerometer Interface is used with the NL109 Bridge Amplifier (one per axis, purchased separately) to provide a flexible system for accelerometry measurements from small single, dual or triple axis accelerometers (see below). The NL260 interface is connected to the NL109 Bridge Amplifier via a 50cm cable. An accelerometer is connected to a “D” connector on the opposite side of the interface box. NL26x ±1.7g Accelerometers (NL261 (1 Axis), NL262 (2 Axis), NL263 (3 Axis)
We offer single (NL261), dual (NL262) and triple (NL263) axis accelerometers which are fitted with a 2m long ribbon cable terminating in a “D” connector plug which fits the NL260 (above). The accelerometers themselves are approximately 11mm (W) x 11mm (D) x 9mm (H). These can be attached to the subject using micropore tape or similar. If you have alternative g requirements please let us know so we can investigate availability of suitable accelerometers.
